Chapter 42 - That Dark Secret

AMAYA'S POV

As we left the restaurant and arrived at the parking lot. Hugo drove so fast and suddenly stopped the engine in a dark alley as if we were hiding from someone. We sat still inside the car for about thirty minutes. I didn't talk or tried to ask him why. But based on his actions, it seems like he is avoiding Francoise. That he knew exactly the possibility of her following us everywhere. And for once, I don't want that either.

Before he started to drive back, Hugo let out a huge sigh.

"I'm sorry about Francie. I didn't want her to ruin our date either but I have no other choice. If I'll resolve it differently like not letting her join us. It will escalate the situation. As I have said before, she's different." He said while leaning his head on the wheel. To be honest, I could feel the same frustration that he is feeling right now. There is something about her that doesn't complete the puzzle.

"Don't worry. I understand."

"Anyway, Would you like to come with me to my place?
