I let out a horrified cry. “Mom!” I exclaim. She’s lying there in a pool of her own blood. “Please don’t leave me, Mom. Please.”

She protects me from the Alpha’s onslaught. She gives up her life so I can live. I just can't accept the fact that he murdered both of my parents.

'Crying is for the weak,' says the anonymous voice again. I scream out in agony, shaking my fists in the air. I can no longer contain my emotions, and I break down into tears. The pain shattered my heart.

The Alpha sneers at my reaction, licking his lips as he savors her blood. “The blood of a traitor sure tastes good,” he says mockingly. “Your family is the enemy of the pack. Can you take a look around, darling? Take a look at their expressions. Everyone is glad that they are gone. Nobody wants them here.”

I follow his gaze. To my greatest surprise. They all look relieve that my parents are gone. Nobody wants them here in this pack anymore. He’s not lying. Why? Why
