Chapter 49

The halo of the horizon arrives with golden grace. The sun shines brightly, warming the cold world. He awakens alone in his bed, and a sudden despair straps him. His impatient eyes searches for her, and when he notices the closet doors open and her walkout, a wave of reprieve washes over him. She was dressed in a simple sundress, her hair free and a smile on her face.

"Good morning." She greets

"Morning,"

"Freshen up and get dressed, let's have breakfast together. Just the two of us." She says with a smile, and he looks at her, befuddled, but says nothing, only smiles and gets out of bed.

Aiden emerged from the closet after a shower and change of clothes to find the room empty. He walked out of the room and followed her scent to the terrace. He stopped by the entrance and saw a large table set up. Seraphina was putting down the last plate of soft pancakes and berries, as warm as they would be in the sun, with maple syrup threaded on top.
