With nowhere to hide, I waited for the person behind the door to reveal himself. The taste of uncertainty and fear was fresh on my tongue, as the door moved to disclose the identity of that person.

As the man behind the door entered the room, my breath got stuck in my throat, as I came face to face with the man I already knew.

What was he doing here?

The beautiful face that was covered in pale-paper white skin, and adorned with those red gemstones, sent a shiver through my spine, as that man walked into the room, with his eyes glued to his phone.

How could this be? How could he be alive? Did Lucifer not kill him in front of my own eyes?

The memory flashed before my eyes, as I mentally saw every detail of how Lucifer drove his hand through that man’s chest, taking out his heart. But then he was not truly a man, so I was not even sure if you could kill a vampire. We had never discussed this, but could he have survived without his heart?

No, no, that was just not possible! H
