Faye shrank her feet grudgingly for me to accommodate myself, causing the sweater loose and too big for her size to fold on her lap. Taken by a sudden kindness, she offered me a strawberry jam tart as soon as I leaned down on the fluffy and dark upholstery of the furniture. I accepted the dessert, biting a generous part.

I sat down slowly.

Faye told me with caution.
