"Take the case back." My mother ordered.

I fell numb to my mother's words. She just asked me to take my case back.

"B...but why?" I stammered.

"Because I am telling you to do that," she spoke in a firm voice.

"Why are you telling me to do this?" I asked.

"Because, he is your husband," she shouted in a loud tone.

"So? Does that give him a right to torture me physically or mentally?" I retorted.

I couldn't believe that my own parents were taking his side. I knew they were strict and they didn't support me in the things I wanted to do. But I had never thought that they would be standing against me at the time when I needed them the most. They would break me entirely like that.
