Chapter 21: Choosing to suffer

Sharmaine sat on the sofa, she looked at Augustus who was in pain, the medicine that Mark gave him would make Augustus a full grown vampire again, Sharmaine clenched her fist, she understood what Mark wanted from Augustus.

Augustus lay still on the bed, his little face pale, his veins red, in the shape of eight years old, but he suffered from the heart. Hands clenched. Sharmaine can't do anything, she has done this step, she must not regret it.

Sharmaine gives him a chance to see Augustus again, be with him, make him believe, everything is in Sharmaine's plan. The two had known and loved each other thirty years ago, but one day Augustus suddenly left and completely forgot about Sharmaine.

She suffered, she despaired, and in the end, Sharmaine accepted her fate.
