Gunner’s POV
Over the past few days, dad has been locked in his office on phone calls with other alphas from packs that surround the locations we had narrowed the list down to. With the time different between everybody, it was hard not to play phone tag with some of them.
Ben and I had been putting in extra time at the gym and training. If we weren’t doing either of those, then we were looking over maps and my mate’s notes. We had a meeting with Alpha Brock and Charlie later today and I still haven’t heard from my mate in over 24 hours.
Koa would send information as she could to Maddox who would then replay the images to me. From those images and what other information she gave us and the times she would connect with us, we were able to rule out one of the other locations, St. Lucia. So that left us with Scotland and Borneo.
“Hey, you did some work in Iceland right?” Ben asked as we were driving to the
Gunner’s POVBen and I were walking around the college campus and so far all we had gathered is Kira had more or less vanished off the face of the planet. Nobody has seen or heard from her in a week. We had decided to go talk to her advisor to see if she indeed just vanished or if she dropped out of all her classes or maybe she just transferred to online or a different school. Ben was thinking that maybe with Cheyenne missing that it was too much for her and she transferred.“What’s going through that head of yours?” Ben asked as we were walking to the admin building on campus.“Do you think I should tell Cheyenne about Kira missing?” I asked. Maddox and I had been going back and forth on this since we left the packhouse.“Let’s try to figure out what happened to her first. If she really hasn’t gone missing, then there’s no reason to get your mate all worried and worked up for no
Gunner’s POV “Sir, Cheyenne’s father has been M.I.A. for a few days now. Ben and I just came from her house and we talked to Tyler while we were there. We were looking for Kira and wanted to question Tyler about her and when we asked to talk to his father, that’s when he informed us that he couldn’t deal with the lies from his mate and that he needed some space to clear his mind but he hasn’t been seen for a few days now. I wanted to speak with you about it to see if you could possibly up your border patrols or possibly send trackers to find him.” I said lowly but I knew he heard everything. “I would’ve known if he left the territory so he’s still within the borders. I will send my beta back to go look for him along with my best tracker. I wouldn’t normally worry about situations like this if I know they’re still within the territory but with everything going on at the moment, I do not want to take any chances. I do appreciate you bringing this to my
Cheyenne’s POVThe past few days have actually been fun, between training and working in the gym with Jax. Koa has been more relaxed herself with being able to shift more. She was extremely excited for the pack run tonight. It was a full moon and everybody shifts and runs with the King leading them all. The moon helps our wolves to recharge basically. Our wolves get stronger every time we shift and they draw their energy from the moon.“Good morning Princess.” Jax teased me.“You really do have a death wish don’t you?” I asked looking at him from the corner of my eyes while smirking.“It’s true. Why won’t you just accept it?” Jax asked.I looked back down at my plate and the stack of chocolate chip and butterscotch chip pancakes, playing with a few pieces that I had already cut off.“I don’t know. It just doesn’t feel right Jax. I grew up as an ome
Cheyenne’s POVI woke up the next morning in a good mood. I stretched my limbs out and could hear Koa yawn in my head. I got out of bed and walked over to my closet and changed my clothes for the day. I put on a pair of mid-calf length leggings and a sports bra with a tank top over it. I hated changing clothes more than I had to, so instead of going to breakfast then coming back to change for training, I just wore my training clothes to the dining hall.“Why are some people smiling and nodding at us?” Koa asked.“I’m not sure. It is kind of weird ain’t it?” I thought back.I continued walking while Koa remained on high alert. There was something going on and I couldn’t quite place it. Some people were acting very differently around me this morning.“Maybe they just found out who we are and they’re trying to kiss ass now thinking that when you take over, they will get whate
Gunner's POVI was in the middle of training with Ben when I felt my mate trying to connect with me. I told Ben I needed a break and went off to a quieter place so I could hear her. Maddox jumped in before I could even say hi, and then she said she was in the shower. Oh for the love of all things holy. This girl is going to be the death of me. I could feel Maddox prancing around pushing images in my head of our mate in the shower. Thank the goddess that Koa distracted Maddox long enough for my mate and I to talk. She updated me on how her training had been going and how some guy named Jax had been more or less taking care of her this whole time. Although the thought of another male touching my mate pissed me off, I also owed him for making sure she was safe. I had to calm Maddox down a couple of times at the thought of this guy and we finally agreed that we wouldn’t kill him but instead he deserved a thank you. At least until we got her back, bec
Cheyenne’s POVI’m not sure how long I sat there staring at the envelope in silence until it finally hit me. The map! I had completely forgotten about the Harry Potter style map that the King gave me. I jumped over to the other side of my bed and pulled it out and unfolded it. I looked all over it and finally found the dot that had Jax’s name next to it. I remembered the path to his quarters and then folded it back up and hid it again.I ran to my closet and I through on a hoodie and tennis shoes and headed out of my room. Luckily there weren’t many people out to stop or question me. Once I got to Jax’s door, at least I hoped it was his door, I knocked three times. I heard someone walking towards the door before it opened.“Alida, what are you doing here?” Jax asked surprised.“I have a problem. I need you like now!” I stated.“What’s wrong?” Jax said with all
Gunner’s POVAlpha Nik was over in the corner of my room talking lowly with my dad. So lowly that even Maddox couldn’t hear them. Although we weren’t really trying to either, we were more focused on the 3 people wondering around my room checking for wolfsbane or anything else that could harm us. Once we got the ok from them, I darted to my bed and picked up the note. Maddox nor I could get a scent off the note so we had no idea who it came from. When I opened the envelope and pulled the letter out and started to read it, I could feel my anger rising and Maddox hackles standing and growling in my head. Dear Sweet Beta,You’re little Princess won’t be around much longer if she doesn’t learn her place. That crown is mine and I will do whatever is necessary to make sure I get it. So, either she steps down or I will have no choice but t
Cheyenne's POVI woke up feeling like something was missing, like there was a hole in my chest. I rolled over and heard something crinkling beneath me and sat up to look. It was the papers from the dream. Every note and plan me and Gunner had discussed. How is this possible? It was just a dream…wasn’t it?“Koa?” I asked out loud.“I’m here sweetie.” She responded before yawning very loudly in my head.“How is this possible? That was just a dream right?” I asked.“After everything we’ve been through, you’re still asking how things are possible?” She actually started laughing at me, but she had a point. “If I may suggest, think we should get those to Jax. Don’t you agree?”“Oh shit. You’re right. We don’t have a lot of time.” I scrambled out of bed, tossing the blanket off of me and went straight to my close
