Chapter 19: Team Captain

The day went by and the presentation for the student council runners was over. After the impromptu speech I had yesterday, it honestly made me feel empowered. I delivered a precise message to everyone and didn't have a dead face while I speak. It was actually better than having a script that you already memorized because my speech sounded natural and not forced. They'd given me cheerful claps, so was the principal who I was casually glancing at while I delivered my speech.

I was panting, as my hair swayed back and forth with every step I took. Beads of sweat were trickling down to my forehead, and my legs almost felt numb from the ceaseless jogs we took around the field. Amanda was behind me, trying to catch up with my pace as I drifted my thoughts to her. Stopping on my track, I glanced behind her and released a breath.

"How many rounds do we need to jog?" I asked as grimace formed on my face.

"About five rounds I think,"
