The Plan

Ryker POV

I was getting the layout of the grounds when I felt something odd close to the gardens. I honestly didn't expect to find anything interesting out here but I wanted to know every inch of their pack grounds. As I came to the back of the flower beds lined with 10ft hedges I felt it; magic.

There had to be a lot of magic being used for me to sense it but I didn't understand how that was possible. As I rounded the corner I felt an uneasiness to turn and run. I knew it was an enchantment to make any prying eyes want to flee.

I used my wolf eyes to zoom in on the open field. At first I saw nothing but a few blades of grass out of place. As I zoomed in more I saw the wrinkles in the air. It was like a hot summer's day or the air above a fire. There were subtle waves of nothingness all across the field. I knew there was a mirage spell at work.

I quickly mind-linked my mom and brother.

'Hey, I'll send a transfer spell later, but there is a large protection spell in the back of the garden. I'm not sure if something or someone is out here. I might have just found our witch'

'That wasn't there before. I checked the gardens and there was no traces of magic. Has to be someone. Maybe a meeting?'  Mom answered.

'I'll see if I can get some spying glass next time I see Ester. I wouldn't hang around to long though Ryker. You don't know what other magics are at play or who is watching. Pretend like you see nothing suspicious and leave.' Chris added.

I cut the link and walked back through the garden.

I spent the rest of the morning getting a full layout of the inside. I found a quite nook in the library to fill in more of the blue print my mother started. I was smiling at how easy this all was. I knew I needed to be careful, but I just couldn't see any hidden reason that they gave me such free range of their territory besides their own arrogance.

As I heard voices coming near I decided to hid in the shadows to see if any new mysteries could be discovered from listening in. When I noticed it was the princess and her Alpha I rolled my eyes and continued my drawing.

What I ended up witnessing had my wolf stirring and not in a good way. Well, it felt good, but it would lead to bad things. I came out of the shadows with a grin on my face.

I wasn't sure if I should intervene when Tyler was getting too aggressive but my mouth hit the floor watching how that little wolf handled herself. My own wolf gleamed with pride for her and I liked how it felt. There was no way a wolfless girl could do that let alone to an Alpha, even a pathetic one like Tyler.

Maybe there was more to this little wolf than I thought.

I was grinning ear to ear as I walked into breakfast. Then I saw Elena apologizing to Tyler. I thought I saw a glimmer of hope in her, but that disappeared watching her make excuses for him while begging for his forgiveness.

'Mom, Chris. I finished the blue prints. Let me know when you're ready and I'll send over images.'

'Ready,' Chris replied in our mind-link.

'I'm ready. I found a passage way from the stock room to the 3rd floor bed chambers as well. I'll send them once we receive yours.' Mom replied.

I was now hidden in a passageway I found in the library that led to the gardens and began my incantations. My kind was more connected than any other creature on earth so I didn't need any resources to cast most spells. I just needed to feel my way from my mind to my mom's and brother's for the images to appear to them.

After a few minutes Mom and Chris finished their copy of the territory blueprints and then Mom sent her drawings of the new passage ways in the kitchen. These secret hallways were giving us a great advantage over the castle. Especially when it will be time to attack within the walls.

'Ok, that is everything. Chris how are we with the attack plan for tomorrow? We don't have much wiggle room. I want to get Hope back sooner than later.'

I was barely able to sleep as the guilt for letting my sister get kidnapped ate away at me. I had three packs, one a direct line to the goddess, but my family was always more important. I just needed to be careful not to let it show too much.

I knew she was in the dungeons being tortured but I couldn't blow our whole operation. She was just as devoted to our purpose and would never forgive me if she was the cause that everything was destroyed.

'We are all set. I'm going to send more of our Rogues out today to scout the woods but everything looks to be in place for tomorrow at sunrise.'

'Make sure they know not to kill unless absolutely necessary. This is not to be a blood bath but a distraction. I want all their borders penetrated to find weaknesses but most importantly we need a clear path in the dungeons. Keep a Shadow on every Rogue unit to keep them in check.'

'Got it' Chris said.

'Mom did you get the keys?'

'Not yet, but I found who holds the master key, the only problem is that they are only for the outside doors. At this point I think whoever has the cell and cuff keys are in the dungeon. I'm going to switch bodies after breakfast so I should be able to get more information. Either way we have to try. Even if we can't get her out we will know where she is and can go back to get her another day. It's been weeks and we are no closer to rescuing her.'

'I know mom. We will get her back and the Trio will pay for everything they have done to all of us. I promise you, they will all pay.' I cut off the mind-link as my anger was boiling over.

My whole life has revolved around revenge. I lost my father and older brother to these pathetic beast and now our entire species' existence rested in my hands.

Sometimes I wondered what it was like to just live for myself, but those days are far from today. It was something I couldn't allow myself to think about too long. This fight could last beyond my lifetime so whatever life I might want, it may never be an option. I wasn't going to waste time fantasying about something I wasn't sure I would ever have.

I needed to be focus at any cost or tens of thousands would die, an entire species eradicated like the Fae. It was the hard truth that I had to live with. A decision my family and only my family was given. Let the lives of werewolves play out without intervention or kill a few to save thousands.

I decided to kill a few to save the rest. Not one day did I regret the lives that were lost or how my life had played out so far. I could had walked away, but I choose this path. I can't cry about what I didn't get in life now. I was a warrior saving our species. My life of happiness and to have my own family was worth sacrificing for the life of all future wolves.

"Come on Ty, let's just go to the lake and have some fun. We have the rest of the week off of school now." Elena's voice drifted to my ear only enraging me more. She was the last person I wanted to see.

"I don't think so Elena. If your father finds out then I'm the one that has to pay the price."

"Just tell him you wanted to give me an early birthday gift before our big day."

"Like he cares if I did it to make you happy or not." Tyler scoffed at her foolish thought.

"Fine, then let's do it and not get caught. Besides, you'll get to see me in my little bikini." She said, sliding her hands up his chest giving him a look that made Tyler smirk.

I rolled my eyes at her pathetic attempts to seduce him. They really were just kids.

"You guys are aware that the castle is on high alert. No one is to leave the grounds, not even you little princess." I said emotionlessly to them keeping my gaze fixed on Elena. Specifically her hand that rested on Tyler's chest.

"Oh, of course Alpha. It was stupid of me to suggest such a thing. Tyler was right to deny my request." Elena stood inches from me with her head bowed.

I tilted my head in confusion. This girl changed personality more often then her underwear. She was a sexy temptress turned bratty teenage when I first met her at the club. Then confident and outspoken turned shy obedient daughter at the table for breakfast. The other day she was a scared little girl turned badass when Tyler was forcing himself on her. Now she was seductive turned submissive. I wonder if she even knew who she was.

"It was stupid little wolf. Go do whatever you kids do but stay out of the woods today." I ordered.

Chris was sending our Rogues to patrol and if they crossed paths I couldn't assure her safety from them.

"Hey! We aren't little kids. We are the future king and queen. I would be more respectful." Tyler spoke puffing his chest out to me. He was an alpha but anyone could tell that I was far more powerful. Not just by physical size but by our auras.

"She is the future Queen, if she ever sees that day. You, well you are just a boy she likes to toy with. Stay. Out. Of. The. Woods." I stepped closer to Tyler to look down at him.

My anger was getting out of control at the thought of her in the woods getting attack like the first night we met. I let go some of my power to send fear into Tyler. I couldn't let anyone see my true power or they would know I wasn't a normal wolf though. So badly my wolf wanted to rip this boys throat out though.

Tyler reluctantly bowed his head but Elena keep her eyes fixated on me. How the hell did she resist my power?

"We won't go into the woods Ryker. Release him now."

I could feel her aura growing as she challenged me and it felt amazing. I could tell she wasn't use to exerting such power and I saw how she was feeling euphoric from it.

I narrowed my eyes at her, dumbfounded how she didn't submit to me. I knew she was powerful and although I wasn't exerting my full Alpha power over them it should had been enough to make her bow.

Elena grabbed Tyler's hand and pulled him out of the room leaving me standing there lost in my thoughts at what just happened.

I shouldn't even care what happened to them anyways. If they died in a Rogue attack it would actually help us move our plans along. There was no reason to be protective over her. In the end she will die.

I shook my head at the thought. She may have to die but I could atleast give her a quick death not one involving rape as she was torn apart mercilessly by Rogues. I suddenly wanted to kill every Rogue even if they were loyal to me.
