DAHLIA'S POV

I watched the slaves whose eyes were dull and lifeless, filled with hope the moment that they saw the cage was opened. They dragged out their sickly and skinny body with desperation as if they were afraid that in a moment by now, someone would lock them up again if they won't move fast.

Despite that their body was weakened, filled with hunger, and tiredness, and their eyes shone like a star the moment that they got out of the cage.

I couldn't help but stare at them and didn't even notice the lone tear that slid down my cheeks.
