“He did it,” Francesca whispered in disbelief “He actually fucking did it,”

Tamara blinked at the TV screen as David gave his divorce statement.

She did it. She had ruined David’s marriage to Chelsea. So why did it feel like she was underwater? What was that loud sound in her brain and why did she feel like she couldn’t breathe?

“Are you okay?” Francesca stopped watching the conference and turned to face Tamara with a look of concern on her face.

Tammy shook her head and wordlessly walked towards the door of her office.

“Miss?” Kim seemed worried as well as both Kim and Francesca hurried after Tamara.

“Don’t worry, I’ve got her. Take care of things here,” Francesca picked up her bag and gently held Tamara’s elbow.

Tamara’s knees felt weak and she allowed Francesca to guide her away from the office.

In the parking lot in Francesca’s car away from prying eyes, Tamara brought her knees up to her chest and let the tears flow.
