CHAPTER SEVENTEEN

Now, as I looked at Lenora, I could see the love and adoration in her eyes as she gazed up at Horace. It was clear to me that she had moved on, finding happiness and love in the arms of my brother, and that she was serious when she said she would make me pay for her mother's death.

I thought I had the upper hand because she didn't accept the rejection, but right inside that room, when she accepted my rejection, I knew there was no room for me.

But I had to keep trying.

My heart was heavy with regret and sadness as I realized that I had lost the three women the moon goddess gave me as mates.

I watched as Horace pulled Lenora close, wrapping his arms around her and kissing her forehead.

Despite my feelings of jealousy and pain, I forgot I had a woman who I loved and wanted as a mate; she was the reason I rejected Lenora.

What was I even thinking? My head is so messed up.
