I sat in my room, a deep frown etched on my face, when I heard my child crying. His tiny sobs tugged at my heartstrings, and suddenly, I felt a deep pang of regret for how I had treated Aurora earlier.

I attempted to find reasons to justify my actions, but no matter how I rationalised it, I couldn't find a single valid excuse for what I had done.

Sighing deeply, I closed my eyes and massaged my temples, the frown on my face deepening.
