When Alex uttered those words, my eyes widened in shock, and a surge of confusion washed over me.

What did he mean by "the blood moon"? I struggled to comprehend his words because they seemed too surreal, like some kind of twisted joke.

"The blood moon?" I asked cautiously, needing confirmation that he wasn't jesting. He responded with a solemn nod.

My heart sank like an anchor, and I involuntarily clenched my chest, feeling a sense of dread and foreboding that made my teeth grind together.

The blood moon wasn't due for another two years, so what on earth had happened to bring it here prematurely?
