CHAPTER 17: A FRESH START

EDNA POV

“But you never told me about your name, so to me, you never had a name.” His words cut and slashed mercilessly through my entire body.

This man was heartless and ruthless. He could do anything to anyone and also to me but what I was sure about, was that I wouldn't allow him to change my name.

“Besides, Edna is old fashioned. Brielle is better.” He cut through bringing me to the living world as he said that.

I felt a twist of pain in my heart as he said that.

It could be old fashioned to him but that was the only thing I had from my parents who I never knew.

It pained me to see he was regarding my parents as old fashioned and naive by his statement.
