Chapter 60

A few days passed, I was hopelessly waiting for Jax to return from his work and when he did, at night, I took him with him.

Baffled, he was staring innocently at me as I was pacing around with a scowl lingering over my face.

“Write it down, Jax, My Lord did this deliberately.” I growled, making a fist.

“Did what?” He blinked, having no idea how horribly my chest hurt when he was not there.

“He sent Darius away to war and he was hurt so badly!” I whisper-yelled.

“It’s natural. Everyone gets hurt in a war. I don’t get your point.” He shrugged his shoulders in confusion, deepening my frown.

“He could have sent Arkin or Samuel but he ordered him to know and you know why?”

Narrowing his eyes, he finally started to get the picture.

“Why?”

“So he would stay away from me and not return to me.” I snarled, hitting the nearby pillar furiously.
