Xavier could not believe his ears. It was him Elder Xhang was talking to. He frowned and turned away in displeasure and Elder Xhang took that as his cue to continue with his prosecution.

“Step forward Trey,” Elder Xhang said. “You have been accused of abandoning your Sentinel duty to chase after an old foe, precisely the Lycan responsible for the nasty cut on your face. What do you plead to the charge that has been laid before you?”

The whole of the court was silent and in that moment, if someone had dropped a pin on the floor, it would have been heard loud and clear. Trey turned to look at Sebastian who was standing some meters before him. They seemed to have a quick communication with their eyes and Sebastian seemed unhappy at the end of their conversation.
