CALISTÉ'S TALE - 1

The two of them stared at her for well over a minute and as if on impulse, they burst out laughing at the same time. Calisté stared back at them, wondering what was funny and Jimin cleared his throat.

“Hold on a second,” Jimin said, “I would be with you tonight. I don’t understand that. What do you mean by ‘I would be with you?’

Calisté shook her head in pity and attempted to hold Jimin by the hand. He shifted away a bit and she laughed.

“There are over a thousand legends about me,” she said. “Calisté the witch, the betrayer, the wolf slayer. In as much as these legends are true, I can be good when I want to. Come on, Jimin. You’re the last person I would want to kill right now.” She attempted to touch his hand again and he shifted away.

“I want to show you the things you would be missing by refusing to follow me,” Calisté said. “Can you remember how your father looked like?”
