Chapter 92.

Here we stood, distastefully gawking at the rickety and dishevelled fencing that ran along Clemonte’s border. Caleb, Arnold and myself all passed each other the same judgemental and shocked glances. The wooden pillars and barbed wire was barely hanging on to each other, it looked as though it could barely keep a skunk off their land, let alone any vicious rogues. All I could think was, how easy pickings the members of this pack were to any savages passing by. There was even no sign of guards patrolling the area and checking their unprotected perimeter.

Caleb took the lead and opened the dilapidated gates, and as they creaked open, Arnold and I followed closely behind, waiting for someone to approach and demand for us to reveal our names, but as we stood awkwardly waiting, we were in disbelief when no one came. No one had noticed that three strangers had walked right through their gate and onto their land.

“But we could be anyone!” I exclaimed to Caleb and Arnold as we glanced around a
