Eira’s POV

When I left the Alpha King’s chamber to my room, I knew that something was different about him. But I couldn't pinpoint what it was exactly.

My mind was telling me it was because he seemed more gentle than he had always been with me.

Hands down, he has never been this gentle with me.

He was always acting bad and mean around me, which always made me think that he hated my presence.

At first, I didn't blame him because he was the one that lost someone, not just anyone but his mate. So, I tried to understand him until I couldn't take it anymore.

I'm not a pushover and I will never be a pushover. Even if he was the Alpha King, he had to know that not everyone would fear him and tremble at the sight of him.

Definitely not me.

And what's with the question about wolves healing by themselves? Has he met one before?
