Chapter 111

The wedding preparations were in full swing, while some items were ordered online and had been delivered the previous day, Anabel still had some shopping to do with her mother and mother-in-law. The day was young when she woke up feeling very energetic. The driver had gone early to bring her mother.

Claudia could not stop bragging about her daughter's soon-to-be marriage. She made sure to invite every relative she had ever known and knew nothing about. Richard had not spoken to Anabel for a week now, she was not taking his calls and the fast-spreading news only made him even more eager to get hold of her.

He walks down the stairs lazily towards the kitchen, his mother is up with the servants going about with the day's meals. A ring caught their attention, it was too early for guests and no one would visit without sending a proper notice. His mother glances towards him, but he shrugs. He wasn't expecting a guest either.
