CHAPTER FOURTY ONE

Claude was walking to school, lost in her own thoughts when she heard the sound of hurried footsteps coming from behind her. She turned around to see a young boy running as fast as he could, with his backpack bouncing on his shoulders.

He was trying to catch the school bus that was just about to leave the stop. Claude could see the worry in his eyes and the disappointment when the bus started to move away.

Without thinking, Claude stepped in front of the bus and stopped it in its tracks. The driver honked the horn, but Claude stood her ground. She waited for the boy to catch up and let him on the bus.

The little boy was so grateful that he gave Claude a big hug before he climbed onto the bus.

Claude felt weird within as she felt she had seen him before, she started walking but her legs became heavy.

Claude's vision blurred as she felt a huge weight on her shoulders, the pain started as a small sting but with each passing moment it got worse.
