Whoever rewrote the script to this second life of mine sure has humor up their sleeves. Because what In the world is all of this drama? I had received a call from Leila's phone that she got into an accident. But, the person I saw on that bed looks like she staged it to me. Not even a major scratch.

Since I was the one who got called, I decided to text her father. I have no idea how Declan got to know, sure he must have been called before me.

“Ba….” He was about to say when his eyes landed on me. Declan had definitely run from his car down to the ward, he was winded.

I held back a laugh at his moment of weakness, he had almost given the both of them away. Something, I know for sure, Leila would wring his neck for.

“Hey, baby.” He gestured towards me, planting a breath filled kiss on my forehead.

Snorting lightly, I stared up at him. “How did you get to know about the accident?” I asked

Declan chuckled awkwardly, “I think they called the first people on her contact list.
