"Oh, I forgot to mention this. Maricela was released on bail earlier with the help of Carissa," disclosed Dominic.

"Are you suggesting that Maricela shared our intelligence with Carissa? But how is Carissa linked to Westford's family? Her influence shouldn't extend that far, should it?" inquired Kathy.

Dominic shook his head. "It's possible that Maricela herself reached out, not necessarily Carissa."

"Impossible!" Kathy exclaimed. "Maricela isn't that clever."

Dominic chuckled and remarked, "You're right, she isn't that astute. Therefore, it's more likely that she inadvertently leaked information and it was overheard by someone with ill intentions. I'll have someone monitor Maricela closely, and I'll speak to Wesley again."

Kathy remained apprehensive. "Once we accept Westford's funding, we may be stuck with no way out."
