Dominic showed no leniency, considering the threat to Kathy's reputation. Realizing that any explanation now would fall short, he opted for silence and showed respect instead.

"I'm here to support you in any way I can. Just let me know what you need," he offered.

Meeting his gaze, Kathy, who had once been moved by his eyes, now smiled coldly. "If I were to utilize your connections, wouldn't that imply my involvement as the third party?"

After Kathy's departure and the subsequent hit to her reputation, Harvard Group's performance took a nosedive, teetering on the edge of bankruptcy each day. Without Xavier's repeated assurances to Mr. Wade that a replacement for Kathy would be found, this quarter's investment would not have been secured. Xavier himself would have faced bankruptcy and ridicule in the business world.

He was reluctant to acknowledge that his years of accomplishments were all thanks to Kathy, nor did he want to concede that he couldn't stand on his own without her support.
