As we drove through the first gate of the prison facility where Amelia was being held, I felt a sudden shiver run down my spine.

After we parked our cars, Chris asked our bodyguards to stay put, as just the two of us were going in to see Amelia.

Chris had earlier informed the prison staff of our visit and that he would like to talk to Amelia in a private room.

Once we got there, we were assigned a guard to lead us around.

As we walked through the inner metal gates, the clang of their closure echoed in my ears. Tall concrete walls loomed above, casting shadows that seemed to swallow the sunlight.

The guard led us down a narrow pathway lined with barbed wire, the atmosphere was tense, with an undercurrent of caution.

Inside, the prison was a world of its own. The corridors were regimented, the sound of footsteps echoing off the cold, hard surfaces. The occasional clatter of voices drifted from cells, a stark reminder of the human lives contained within these walls.
