Tough conversations.

Greg was watching his family since they gathered at the dinner table. He wanted to talk privately with his father, but it was impossible until the meal ended. It was another rule created by his parents, and breaking it would be a big mistake. Like his mother always said, it was a time for a family. Those words could make more sense in any other family but not theirs. The only thing connecting them was blood.

Greg was an heir and a future vampire king, and his father paid him attention only because of that. In other circumstances, he would be as invisible as Xavier. Maybe then his mother would care more about him. Now, she only fulfilled her duties, while her love was directed to his brother.

Xavier knew how to use it to his advantage. There was no day when he wouldn't remind Greg about his privileged position as the firstborn, like he had something to say in that matter.
