Chapter 22 Rejecting The Alpha

Loraine’s Pov

I gritted my teeth and endured the churning feeling around my stomach. I could still taste the iron in my mouth and despite that my head was throbbing as if it was pulsating, I still managed to push through without looking back.

‘Loraine, come back!’ I could hear the cold voice that the Alpha King had commanded, talking to me using a mind-link, but I didn’t care about it nor listen to him.

I walked even faster and didn’t look back at him despite the burning sensation throughout my body. Hah, it really seemed that the larger the mark is, the more one would suffer if they rejected their fated partner. Now, it would be I who would suffer from it.

But despite that I suffered from it, I don’t regret what I did.

When I went back to the maid’s quarter, I could feel the gaze as they gazed at me but the pain that I felt made me not care about it.

“Loraine, what happened to you?!” It was none other than Anna who asked as she guided me back to my room after seeing that I was alread
