Loraine's Pov

“What a foolish woman. Protecting those kids won't bring you good.” Belinda's father, Benedict, had said while sneering at me.

I glared at him. “What a foolish official. Harming these kids won't bring you good. If this act spreads outside, who knows what would happen to you?”

Benedict let out a ‘pfft’ laugh. “That is, if I let you get out of here alive after knowing too much.”

I looked at Shun who was trembling while hugging his brother and when he saw me looking at him, he looked at me with reddened eyes.

“I... I don't want to die..."

“You won't.”

“I don't want my brother to die...”

“I won't let it happen.”

“B... But I don't want you to get hurt.” He softly said, making my expression soften.

I couldn't help but smile at his words. I raised my hand and patted his head. “Be a good boy and close your eyes. No matter what you feel and what would happen, don't open your eyes unless I say so okay? Do you trust me?”

Shun pursed himself and nodded his head. “Just don't get hurt
