Chapter 14 Unusual behavior

Molly’s POV…

The Stevens couple always treats me very well, and Grandma adores me just like she adores Lance. When she requests me to spend the night here, I cannot turn her down.

Lance's eyes show a hint of hesitation, but I ignore it. Maybe he is planning to go to Ruby. I don’t care anymore. I decided to stay here solely for Grandma's sake.

"I will stay here," I reassure her with a comforting smile. "Now, you should sleep. You have already exhausted yourself."

Lance looks at me with wide eyes, as if he did not expect such a reaction from me.

‘This is not for you, Lance. I will obey the elders of this family as long as I am in this marriage.’

Grandma seems happy with my response. She, like an obedient child, closes her eyes to sleep.

Lance left to attend to a phone call. But I stayed with her until she fell asleep.

The housekeeper comes to call me for dinner. I follow him to the dining hall, where Lance and his parents await me.
