“Come on, Kaia. He’s our mate. And I like him. He’s a good guy and I want to keep getting to know him. I think that you should give him a chance.” I’m trying really hard to keep my cool, to remain patient with my extremely stubborn mate. It’s not easy.

Especially since she now feels like Tomas is stealing me away from her. She might be good at keeping him out of her head, but it’s a lot harder to keep me out, especially since we’re marked and mated. I can feel what she feels. I know what she’s thinking. Kaia is turned completely away from me, staring at the window outside. Her scent of bitter orange and lavender fills my nose, driving me crazy.
