Chapter 22

Axel's Pov

In the conference room

"Is this the proposal you've prepared for this month's business plan?" I said in annoyance as I slammed the file on the table.

Manager Kim's legs were literally shaking as he continuously wiped away the sweat on his forehead. "President Axel, I..." he stammered, lost for words.

I looked around the conference room and saw the tired looks on the faces of all the workers. They had been working non-stop for the past three weeks, partially because I, as the president, had also been working over time.

I wanted to take a break and clear my mind of thoughts about Leah and Jasper, but it didn't seem to be working. I sighed and said, "Rewrite the proposal again. You will be submitting it in three days' time."

As I walked out of the conference room, I overheard someone whisper, "Phew! President Axel is really scary now. Thank God he didn't fire Manager Kim."

It was clear that the tension in the room had not gone unnoticed.
