Chapter Eight

Tent:

“Holy shit.” Nathan said out loud watching the girl collapse in his arms, his hand shaking slightly as he held the needle and syringe.

Agnar did not respond. He attempted to get out from under her but when he felt that she was still slightly cold, he adjusted himself letting out a big sigh. He looked up at Nathan who was still just staring at them.

“Who the hell is she?” Nathan said with a smile tugging on the corner of his lips. She was fierce and strong, he found himself admiring her.

“I dont know.” Agnar muttered as he looked down at her.

Her brows were frowning and her face was tense even under sedation. This girl had gone through something. He was starting to feel bad but then reminded himself that everyone right now everywhere was going through something. That this girl was no different than anyone else.

“ I like her.” Nathan said, the smile creeping into a wide grin.

Agnar narrowed his eyes at him. His wolf Ivar inside of him growling like crazy. He didn't understand the anger he was feeling towards Nathan. He pulled the girl closer to him, wrapping both arms around her.  A small growl escaping him. Nathan put his hands up and stepped away.

“Easy Alpha. She’s gonna be perfect for  you.” Nathan laughed loudly  now, His Alpha didn't know. How could he not see it. Nathan was still holding his hands up in the air.

“What are you saying?” Agnar growled looking back at the girl.

“Alpha you don't know? Come on now.” Nathan said, making a face at Agnar like he was crazy.

“If you have something to say then say it! I don't have time to sit around here and listen to you talk in riddles.” Agnar snapped.

Nathan paused a few moments as if thinking about what he was going to say next. He debated telling Agnar His thoughts but he quickly decided he needed to sort it out himself.

“Alpha, nothing to say here.” Nathan smiled softly, with a small nod.

“How long will that keep her sedated?” Agnar asked, ignoring Nathan's tone and smile.

“Few hours…longest to maybe get her situated in a tent. Get some clothes on her and some food ready for her.” Nathan said, shrugging his shoulders as he made suggestions.

“My tent.” Agnar said quietly, his tone was possessive. Nathan knew it wasn't a question but he couldn't help poking the bear.

“I figured you would want the new possible threat close to you.” Nathan smirked, waiting for Agnar to lash out at him.

“No, that's right I should watch her. She is something else.” Agnar said quietly almost as if reminding himself.

“What are her health risk?” Agnar asked  as he looked her over.

He had not seen any wounds on her. He did see bruising, maybe she had something internal going on. That worried him and it flashed across his face for a second. Nathan caught the look. He had never seen Agnar worry about anything in his whole life. This could be a good thing or a very bad thing.

“I believe she will be fine now that her body temperature is stabilized. She just got too cold.” Nathan said shortly.

Agnar let out a quiet long grumble as he frowned thinking of what he needed to do and how this was stopping him. He looked up as Nathan was making his way closer and closer to the tent's exit.

“Hold up. I need something.” Agnar said to him, making him come to a stop.

“Things?” Nathan asked as he raised an eyebrow at Agnar as he waited for him to answer.

“Going to need some rope or handcuffs to keep her still. She’s going to pop up  drunk and fighting ... .clearly.” Agnar muttered.

“Ahh gotcha. I’ll go see what i can find.” Nathan said, still shaking his head as he walked out the tent.

She groaned, turning slightly in his arms. She was fighting it so hard, her eyes fluttered. They were opened but just barely. She was trying to wake herself up. Agnar's stomach dropped as he looked down into her green dazed eyes. How did she have this much strength in her? How did she have this much fight? That drug was supposed to knock her out but here she was holding on.

“What’s your name?” The question just fell out of his mouth, he needed to know.

“Fuck you.” Levi said once more her head dropped and she slumped against his chest.

He couldn't help but smile. He looked down at her in amazement. She nearly died and is currently sedated but her will to fight is incredible. Her voice echoed in his head, it made all his senses come to life. His body enjoyed hearing it. He then laughed softly, a deep soulful laugh as he shook his head. The words fuck you echoed in his ears.

“Alpha?” Logan said, stepping into the medic tent.

“What?” Agnar was annoyed because of the way Logan said “alpha”.

“There is movement coming towards us, another pack. They are…” Logan cut off as if trying to find the words to say.

“They are what?” Agnar snapped, he was already dealing with enough.

“It looks as if they are looking for something…?” Logan said, pausing and looking down at the girl.

“We need to move her to my tent now.” Agnar said, swinging his legs off the bed and cradling her to his chest.

“Do not let them into our campsite without my say so.” Agnar ordered.

Levi groaned as she was moved around and was then pulled tightly into Agnar’s chest. She wanted to hate it but she couldn't help but want to be closer to the warmth. She could hear them talking but couldn't move. She felt that she was being carried quickly. The world faded out again.

Agnar cradled her to his chest and rushed towards his tent. Her body partially exposed, he took the thin sheet with him but it was not enough to cover her. As he walked quickly by pack members he caught him looking confused. The girl's head slumped backwards, her blond hair dangling as he rushed. He clenched his jaw. How dare they look at her! He growled viciously as he walked through the camp. Everyone immediately dropped their heads and looked at the ground. He didn't want anyone looking at her body.

“Nathan, my tent.” Agner mindlinked him as he ducked into the tent.

This wasn't his pack house. He couldn't secure a tent. He was struggling to find a way to keep her safe. He felt this overwhelming need to make sure she was ok. If he was back on his pack lands there would be no questioning. She would be safe. He was one of the few packs left that managed to hold on to a homestead. Most packs were nomadic now either running from another pack or attacking and taking from another pack. It was a world of chaos and everyone took what they could get now. He set her down on the bed and she groaned slightly.  He wrapped her in the sheet and stared down at her. His eyes couldn't help but trace her skin with his eyes. The way the sheet hugged her figure as it draped across her. Her thigh was exposed and he felt his hand wanting to reach out and touch her. He wanted to run his hand up her thigh under the sheet and crease every inch of her. He froze trying to control the emotions sweeping over him.

“Ok Alpha, I found rope and handcuffs.” Nathan announced walking in holding them up.

Agnar snarled seeing him as if he was interrupting something. Nathan scrunched his face looking at him not sure what he did wrong. He then dangled clothing in front of him.

“I got the smallest clothing I could find, we didn’t have any female clothing here. So this will have to do.” Nathan said, shaking his head walking towards Agnar.

“Great.” Agnar grumbled, snatching everything from him.

Agnar couldn't understand where the rage was coming from. He was now blocking Nathan;s view of the girl and glaring at him. Nathan didn’t seem phased by it. He was normally pretty level headed. He was the calm and collected type but deadly when he needed to be.

“Is there anything else you need Alpha?”  Nathan asked, watching him look at the girl.

“No.. Wait, yes. There's a pack moving this way. Looking for something…or someone. We need to be prepared to fight. Join the others and do not allow them into our camp site.” Agnar said quickly, regaining his thoughts.

“Yes Alpha.” Nathan nodded, his smile fading as he switched modes, heading out the tent entrance.

Agnar looked around and there was nothing to tie or hand handcuff her too. His bed was just a cot. He groaned, his head throbbing. He looked around the tent once more trying to find something that might work. His eyes settled on the main pole in the center of the center. He let out another groan, it would have to do for now. He grabbed the cot in one hand and dragged it to the center.  He pushed the cot right up against the pole.  He grabbed the t-shirt and pulled her into his arms. She flopped around like spaghetti. He pulled the black t-shirt over her head and began fumbling her arms through the arm holes.

“I don't know who you are but you are a real pain in the ass.” Agnar mumbled to her as he pulled the shirt down.

His fingertips brushing her skin as he did. Tingles ran up his arms and his chest tightened, feeling her soft skin against his. He clenched his jaw trying to ignore it. He took a deep breath and grabbed the pants. He placed a foot in each leg and then wiggled them up.

“Go.” Levi muttered half drunk and trying to fight the drug in her system.

He saw her arm twitch and knew if she had full range of motion or any control over it she would be swinging and fighting.  He buttoned the pants for her and then placed a blanket over her. He grabbed the handcuffs in his hand and took her arm in his hand. He clapped one of the hand cuffs to her wrist and then looped it around the pole. He pulled her other arm to meet the other side locking it around her other wrist securing her to the pole.  He heard her growl as if she knew what was going on. The growl made him smirk, he wanted to hear more of it.

“Alpha there here.” Logan’s voice came through mindlink, ripping him away from his current scene.

He clenched his jaw as he heard it. He tucked the sheet around her and then pulled a blanket off the chair next to them and draped it carefully over her. He reached down and found himself touching her cheek lightly, getting caught up in her. He shook his head pulling his hand away and turned to walk out of the tent, ready to fight.
