Kai’s POV

“Klaus, you lying bastard!” I shouted, my voice filled with uncontrollable rage. “How dare you accuse my mother of killing my mate’s father when you know she had nothing to do with it?” I repeated the question, emphasizing each word.

Klaus smirked, his eyes gleaming with a deep sense of satisfaction. “Oh, I know, Kai. And I also know that you know the whole truth about everything that transpired that night. But does she?” He asked, pointing at Alana. She was standing next to me, her face pale and her eyes filled with tears.

I felt a dull ache in my heart and curled my hands into fists. I watched as tears rolled down her cheeks, a stinking reminder of the pain that Klaus had inflicted on her by the careless words he had uttered without shame or remorse.

It pains me to see that he preyed on her weakness. Her father’s death was not a good topic for her, and I mostly avoided it. It was for her good because she believed in her father’s innocence, and I wanted it to stay that way

C’mon Alana, give him the benefit of the doubt to at least hear him out. Remember when you were innocent and he wouldn’t listen? Don’t make the same mistake.
