Kai's POV

As I returned home, my heart still felt heavy with unresolved tensions. I could feel the remnants of my confrontation with Beta Simon still clinging to my mind.

Who the hell does he think he was, coming at me like that? Nobody questions my rules or decisions. I’m old enough to know what the hell I am doing.

If I say she will stay locked up, then she fucking will.

The frustration inside of me was growing like a volcano. It won’t be long before someone trespasses and it erupts. I ran a shaky hand through my hair, willing my mind to relax for a minute without reeling out of control.

The moment I entered the grand hall of our pack's house, the sight of my little girl, Willow, crying in the hallway greeted me, her tear-stained face urgently tugging at my heartstrings.
