Kai’s POV

I stormed out of Alana’s room and further out of the clinic, leaving behind a shattered piece of my heart and trust on the floor. I couldn’t stand to look at her anymore, or at the woman who had betrayed and broken my heart.

Alana was my mate, the one I could have risked everything for. But she had lied to me and cheated on me with another man. A weak, pathetic man who didn’t have the guts to confront me. He had to hide behind a mask and try to kill me.

How could she do this to me? How could she do this to us? We were supposed to be together, happier than we ever were. We had a bond—a fucking connection—that was stronger than anything.
