Chapter 48

Sam POV

When she walked into my apartment she seemed completely different from the Jane I know. Our mate bond tells me something is not okay with her.

From the mate bond, I can feel her in pains and she has not spoken to me about it. It all seem like some things are going on with her but she is hiding all from me.

“ I saw your messages, Scarlet. I’m sorry I didn’t have the chance to reply back.” Jane replies to Scarlet’s question. Scarlet doesn’t look pleased with her and I also think Scarlet must have been noticing the changes in her friend’s attitude.

“ Where were you Jane?” I come close to the two of them, and she turns to face me.

“ I went out for a long walk. I needed to breathe, it felt I was suffocating on my own.” She reply, blinking at me as though she has recited her reply.

“ You went on a long walk alone?” Scarlet hit her with the pain in her eyes. “ Do you know how long I’ve been looking for you, Jane? Do you know how worried I have been and you didn’t bother to take me on
