Eighty Five

~Isabella's POV

They exchanged uneasy glances, realizing that their attempt at casual gossip had escalated into a confrontation. The atmosphere in the bathroom had shifted, tension hanging thick in the air.

And then, they took it a step further. "Did you see her hair? It's like she doesn't even own a brush," the first girl sneered, her tone dripping with contempt.

"Right? And those clothes, she needs a stylist ASAP," the second girl added, joining in the disparaging remarks.

I felt a pang in my chest, the cruel words cutting deeper than I expected. The bathroom suddenly felt suffocating, and I needed to escape the toxicity.

Before they could conjure up more insults or excuses, I turned on my heel and walked out of the bathroom, leaving them with the weight of their words. The encounter had left me with a bitter taste, but I refused to let their negativity make my night even worse

As I returned to the dining room, the charged atmosphere from before seemed even more palpable.
