Chapter 22 SHADES OF PAIN

Beatrice's POV

The question of Laz is out of my control. I couldn't answer them. They just heaved a sigh and readied to sleep.

I sighed even more. I caressed their cheeks and mumbled my apology. They didn't look at me and they just close their eyes.

I bit my lower lip, suppressing my tears. I don't want to tell them the truth. Even if it means I hurt them with this. I don't want to hurt them anymore. They don't deserve it. They don't deserve him.

I know Dylan knows the truth. I could sense it. I could feel it. The way he looked at me. The way he talked to me. I know, there's something he wants to ask me but he's suppressing himself.

"I... I'm sorry, Dylan! L-Let me explain—" he cut me off.

Instead of getting angry, he hugged me like nothing happened. He hugged me tight. I know he could smell me. He could still smell the scent of Lucas but he didn't give a damn about it. He was just hugging me so I hug him back.

I pressed my face into his chest even more. I want to feel his warm touch.
