Chapter 6 THE DECISION

Lucas' POV

I didn't know how to tell my feelings when I heard from her again after so many years.

The royal witch said I likely wouldn't get a second chance, and I didn't very care about it actually. As Alpha King, what kind of woman couldn't I get? But for some unknown reason, I always felt like I needed to see that omega again.

Especially my wolf Hugo, he missed her.

“Are you sure with this information, Fabian?” I asked while scanning the file.

“Yes. It’s in Fabrice. You are aware of the special policies of this town, Alpha. It caused some difficulties in our previous investigation.” Fabian replied truthfully.

I massaged my temple as I put down the file. Town Fabrice, the town for outcasts. Why didn't I think of this place sooner? It's the best place for a homeless omega like her.

“Any further information about her?”

“My apologies, My Alpha. So far all we've gotten is her name and that she owns a tailor store in this town." Fabian lowered his head, "You may need to make a personal trip if you want to confirm her identity."

I tapped my fingers on the desktop, lost in thought.

‘What are you waiting for? Go and find our mate!’ Hugo growled in my head.

‘We're still not sure she's our mate. Besides, I'm engaged.' I reminded the wolf.

'Don't tell me you're really going to marry that brainless woman. She's not material of Luna at all.' Hugo mocked.

'Then you mean that omega can be a good Luna?'

'Our mate is always perfect!'

I shook my head helplessly. I could understand Hugo's desire for the mate but as the alpha, the pack's benefit goes first. Town Fabrice is a special presence in history, I can't do things rashly.

"Alpha," Fabian asked me with deliberation. "Should I arrange for you the trip to Fabrice now?"

"I'll let you know when it's time." I heaved a deep sigh.

Fabian was about to ask again but the door suddenly opened. I watched Samara striding closer as I frowned.

“What’s your problem, Mara?”

“I can't believe this, Lucas! A civilian dared to reject my order!”

The spoilt woman was practically ranting, giving me a headache again.

"Put it simply," I said, pinching my brow.

As if she never noticed my harsh tone, Samara complained loudly, "You know I always want a perfect dress for our wedding. I was so glad when I found a genius design."

I pinched my fists to endure her noise. God, I couldn't imagine what it would be like to accept her around me for the rest of my life. Hugo was right. She's no material of a Luna.

"But guess what? That ungrateful designer turned down my request for an order!" Samara pressed herself against my arm, exposing her cleavage, “Lucas, can you accompany me to visit her shop?"

I ignored her deliberate seduction and retorted, "I'm busy. You'll be safe anywhere since your father has arranged so many bodyguards for you."

"Lucas, it's different this time." She didn't seem to give up. "The shop is in Town Fabrice and you know I can not go there without your accompany."

"Town Fabrice?" I raised my brow as I heard this name again. As if everything was leading me there. Weird.

"Please, Lucas. I have to give this Beatrice Everdeen a lesson. How dare a lowly wolf with no scent to reject me!”

Beatrice Everdeen? No scent?

I felt hit by those words. So it was really her? My men failed to trace her as she had no scent. And it wasn't until then that I realized it was also a gift for her.

No one can find her if she didn't want to.

I suddenly realized that I couldn't miss this opportunity. It’s been almost six years.

“Get my trip ready, Fabian,” I made the decision.

Beatrice’s POV

“Beatrice, why did you cancel that order?” Katie asked. “That will be a huge amount!”

I shook my head while busy sorting the fabric that arrived this morning.

I knew she would be shocked but I had to cancel this deal.

Katie walked closer. “Don't you forget that you need it to prepare Dylan for the surprise?”

“I'll find another way," I answered casually, trying to pretend I was not moved.

"But how? The time is approaching." Katie was still puzzled.

"Katie, I just don’t have much time to meet the demands of this honored guest." I took a deep sigh, "You’re aware of that. She’s so rude when we all talk over the phone.”

“Well, she will be the future queen of Van Zanth. What do you expect? It will be a great marketing plan if you make her dress. People will soon look for you and have their dresses be tailored.”

“I don’t like conflicts,” I replied coldly, making Katie arch her left brow.

“Conflicts about what?” Katie asked out of curiosity. “Why would it bring conflicts? Dresses are like a sacred weapon. You have to stay as clean as possible."

Hearing her words, I paused what I was doing.

“You know anything about the leader of that pack? And what was your impression about him?”

“Handsome?”

I  rolled her eyes. If only she knew how bastard Alpha Lucas could be.

Katie laughed. “But seriously. He’s handsome but of course, I fear him. Rumors always say that he can kill without mercy.”

“Exactly the point.” I nodded, "And his fiancée is from a powerful pack also. And you know me, I am separating myself from those kinds.”

Katie sighed and pulled a chair. “How about Dylan? Do you know him that much? You know what, I’ve been thinking since the day you opened up to me about your relationship, aren’t you being curious where he came from—”

“Katie, I told you, his pack doesn’t want him, making him choose to escape from them.”

“Fine. Whatever—" Katie's words were cut off as the shop door was pushed open. Her jaw dropped when we recognized who entered the shop.

"Good day, Ma’am. May I help you?” Katie greeted politely as soon as she suppressed the shock in her eyes.

Who would have thought that the future queen of Van Zanth would visit a small store like ours in person?

“Where’s Beatrice Everdeen?” The woman asked sternly, being unable to mask her distaste in her eyes for the civilian dwellings. I sensed the hostility.

I crossed my arms. “You’re looking for me—”

“How dare you cancel my order? Don't you know who I am? My fiancé will teach you a lesson!” Samara interrupted. She's so rude!

I wanted to remind her of some rules in this special town but only felt creepy as I smelt a special scent from her.

That smell. I can’t be mistaken. It’s Lucas Moretti! Yes, she is his fiancée now!

My heart thumped even faster when the door chime rang.

‘Is he coming here too?’

Hell NO!
