Walking out of the prison, Marcus was waiting by the door. He didn’t look like he was doing anything but standing guard.

“So did you get anything out of her?” he asked when he noticed I was walking towards him.

“No.” I sighed. “She just kept telling me she did it to protect me, that I am going to be some kind of slave to this palace.” I sighed. “I don’t know if I want to believe her, or if she is just trying to get me to feel something for her so I can get her out of there.”

“And that made you feel how?” he asked as we walked away from the cells.

“I don’t know, I guess I am kind of pissed off at her so whatever she said in there, I don’t believe anyways.” I sighed. “She doesn’t make sense, and I guess I should just sit there and listen to what she has to say.”

“She could have said anything, but she wanted to focus on what she had to do to protect you right?” he asked.
