Chapter forty four

CORA’s POV….

My head was aching badly, and tears streamed down my cheeks as I opened my eyes, staring at the ceiling as I got off the bed. It hurt; everything did. I didn’t know what hurt more: the physical pain from having to do all of that work or the emotional pain of my own mate doing all of this to me.

Sure, he had been the one who had tried to reject me before, but then I refused. In a way, I was the one who brought all of this upon myself, but deep down, I was hoping that one day, maybe one day, he would have a change of heart. But with the way things were going, I was starting to doubt if it was ever going to happen.

I just hoped that the moon goddess would look upon me with mercy. I just hoped that one day she would have pity on me and actually make me happy like I deserved to be.

Seeing as I wasn’t able to get any rest, I decided to take a stroll around the garden.
