Narrator
David stared at king Richard. He was not surprised. In fact, he would expect those elders to do something stupid like that. King Richard studied David’s demeanour and realised that his courage was not wavering. He stood tall and proud and stared right into his eyes. There was not even a hint of deception in David’s baby blue eyes. His mouth was paused in a grim line while his eyebrows were wrinkled together in a deep frown. He didn’t look like someone who would try to deceive anyone.
He expected David to scream and deny the king’s allegations. He wanted to see him protest against the injustice he had faced. At least he thought that David would voice his rights when he was locked upBut none of that happened, the vampire king felt his anger slowly dissipate. He knew David was being patient. King Richard sighed and continued with his little speech.

Narrator Months passed by and things stayed the same for David. His life finally started to flourish with his being accepted into the vampire kingdom. Even back in the pack, life was going on as if nothing wrong had happened. Cade and Hailey continued being the appointed alpha and Luna of the pack. They had the utmost support of the elders since Hailey’s father was the high elder. They had practically no problems at all. Until Hailey started to feel Cade distancing himself from her. He started to not return from alpha duties until it was awfully late. And by the time he did come back, Hailey would be too tired. Narrator Hailey lay beside Cade wide awake for a long time. She just couldn’t sleep. Different thoughts kept disturbing her until finally her eyes started to get too heavy for her keep them open. However, by that time it was already sunrise and Cade woke up to start his day shortly after. After giving a bored look to his chosen Luna who slept beside him, he freshened up and left. When Hailey woke up, it was already almost noon. Frantically looking around for any signs of Cade, she ran around the alpha quarters in her night gown and soon realised that it has been quiet some time since he left. She looked at the untouched table that she had set for last night. Her eyes stung with tears she remembered how eager she was for that night. She was longing for him to come and hopefully spend some time together. After all, the pack duties have caused them to spend fewer and fewer quality time together. Narrator Months passed by, and now David is fully accepted by the vampire community. They were fully aware of who he was. The commoners were faithful to the throne. And they trusted their superiors enough to accept their judgement without any hesitation. Even those who had tortured him had come to apologize and swear their loyalty to their ruler, who David gracefully forgave. They were grateful for that and swore to protect their future king and queen with their lives. Evan passed the test after his training sessions with flying colours and soon joined the army. He and Nolan were the most hard working youngsters among those who joined recently. King Richard knew that though David was young, he would have enough experience of fighting. After all, he was the reason they couldn’t defeat the werewolf army the first time they attacked.

She soon started to lag behind her work and started to spend most of the time locked away in her room. She didn’t want to talk to anyone, she even stopped having her weekly gatherings with her closest friends or going shopping with them – something she really enjoyed. She rarely got out of the room, even to have food. She would rather order the food to be brought to her room. Literally, she started to avoid meeting others and started to live in solitude in her room. Cade continued to come home late and avoid talking with Hailey. Narrator David stormed all the way back to the palace. The news he had just heard was just too much for him. He couldn’t believe that the one who he thought he could trust had actually stabbed him in the back. “David! Wait up!” King Richard gasped as he ran after David. Taking deep breaths, David tried to calm himself down. He had to keep himself under control. He couldn’t lose it just because he found out the truth which was hidden from him the whole time. He turned around slowly and faced the mighty king. “Your beta?” he asked. “Yes. Your highness. My best friend’s father was my beta the whole time until Cade turned eighteen. He was my father’s beta too. I thought he was true and loyal to the pack the entire time. I had trusted

Narrator Women and children started to run around, in fear. The elders and the warriors were quick to gather in front of the pack house. Cade was already barking away orders. Hailey too was trying her best to calm the elders and children down and lead them towards the basement of the pack house, where they would be the safest. Elder Barron too had to join the rest of the elders. Gerald also decided to help them. He now could use his powers to defend his pack. The opal will have to wait. Soon, the huge army of vampires invaded the pack, slashing their claws and crushing the bones of whoever attacked them. The whole place was soon a blood bath and the warriors who attacked them were easily defeated. It was clear that the vampires were stronger than the werewolves, even in their wolf form.
