Willow

The room was quiet, too quiet if you asked me. For the last one hour, the only thing that could be heard was the loud thumping of my heart against my chest. With how hard it was going, I wouldn't be surprised if the vital organs ruptured right through my skin.

I parted my lips and closed it again. I wanted to speak, the words were literally on the tip of my tongue, but for the life of me, I just couldn't bring myself to say anything. And the man in front of me was helping out either.

Carter. Carter and I had been sitting in silence for the last one hour, with none of us daring to break it. I had a good reason for my silence, but as for Carter, I didn't have the faintest clue.
