I staggered on my bed. I tried to relax and believe I would soon become Earnest's bride, but my mind refused to quiet down. I was full of anxiety, turning and tossing as the fear of not being in Earnest's future gripped me like a vice, squeezing my mind and making it hard for me to breathe.
