SIXTY

Panic clawed her as her eyes snapped open. Her thoughts were girthed with fear that he would know that she tried to run away and worse - He'd think she tried to escape with Diego asking for his help. 

     Her chin began to quiver. Her eyes turned glassy. She held her breath and peeked around. She let out a huge breath. 

     Stepped out of the bed, she stumbled toward the door. Her trembling hand reached for the door, "There are guards outside," She recognized her voice. 

      She spun and breathed out slowly, seeing Emlyn, "I'm not running. Where's Ales? I need to talk to him." She said in a groggy voice. Her grip was tightened on the doorknob. 

      Emlyn rushed at her exasperatedly, stopping at her face, "You know what he can do to our family," she snarled. 

      "He won't do anything," She snapped, letting go of her grip. Her knees wobbled.&n
