18. The Deported Aunty Berek’s Daughter

The sound of horse footsteps heard on the path. Two young men rode their horses through the city square. Khandra looked at the middle, where the Queen Mother’s head started to decay let by the guards. Khandra pulled his harness, making it stopped. And Kayana stopped her horse at his side.

“Damn!” She swore.

“Watch your tongue! Many flies around us!” Khandra reminded his friend, watching around closely. “I don’t know how long the Queen Mother’s head will be hung like that,” he said softly. They both looked at each other and nodded. They rode their horses into a stall.

“Aunty, is therea vacant room we can use? We both want to get drunk.” Kayana smiled when Aunty Berek, the owner came.

Aunty Berek smiled back. “Of course. There is one in the corner. Is that okay with you? The other isn’t available,” Aunty Berek said.

They all went in. Some visitors, eating at the middle, starred at them. right in, there were some doors. Khandra and Kayan went into the last door.
