Chapter 12 - We have a deal

London's POV

As I reached for the door handle, I heard a gruff voice from behind me. "Hey, where are you going?"

My heart sank as I turned to see George standing there, a look of confusion and concern on his face. I didn't want to see him, didn't want to talk to him. I just wanted to be alone, to wallow in my own misery. I forced a smile, trying to appear composed.

"I just...I need some air," I stammered, my voice breaking."But there's no need for it again," I said and walked back into my room not giving him an audience.

He rapped on the door again, and I let out a huff of frustration.

"What do you want?" I snapped, my patience wearing thin.

He gave me a look of mock offense. "Is that any way to greet your husband in the morning?" he asked, his voice dripping with sarcasm. I could feel my temper rising, and I fought to keep it in check.

"Just go away, George," I said, my voice wavering. "I don't want to talk to you right now."
