Chapter 2 - Scandal

**London's POV**

I arrived home to find Paris in the living room, staring into space.

"Baby, I'm back." I jumped onto the couch and placed both legs on the side table, resting my head on my hands.

Paris glanced at me, then adjusted and faced the ceiling.

"I need a thank you," I demanded, but Paris remained quiet.

I turned to her and, with a smile, spoke softly, "Miss Elorod, you are fired."

"I know he would--" She stopped and faced me. "--What do I tell Frank?"

I dropped my legs and tossed my hair. "I don't like that boyfriend of yours, so I don't care what happens between both of you."

I stood up and was about to walk away when I heard sobbing from Paris. I turned to her and sat down, feeling moved.

"I won't advise you to tell him the truth; keep it to yourself," I advised. Paris turned to me and leaned into my embrace.

"It's going to be okay," I patted her head.

*Katz Corporation*

"What do you mean by a scandal with my employee?"

The PA showed his tablet to Mr. Katz, whose face fell when he saw the news.

'Heir to the Katz family business: a night with his tea girl'

'He claims to be disciplined but is f***ing his tea girl'

'Is this love or are they using each other? Katz George the wealthy man'

"What is the rank of this news?"

"Top 1 in the 3 of the top news station. Top 2 in blog sites."

"What's top 1 on the blog?" The PA tapped his tablet for some seconds then looked down.

"James, speak!" George was losing his temper. He opened his laptop and started typing frantically.

Just then, a lady rushed in. "President George, your... your mother is here." George, who had a cold face, stood up and straightened his back.

Soon, a lady with grey hair dressed in silk walked in, taking short strides. She waved her hand above her head, and everyone left.

"Son, have you seen the headlines?" Her voice was soft but carried enough power to make one shiver.

"Mom, it's not what you think. She drugged me." Mrs. Katz sat down in front of him and crossed her legs at the ankle.

"I want to see her," she demanded.

George placed both hands on the table and bowed his head. "You fired her, didn't you?"

Mrs. Katz got up and dropped her bag on the table. "I didn't raise you to be a man who disposes of women when he likes. You said she drugged you, but your face is filled with guilt, which shows that you lied. You decided to fire her to cover your sins, right?" George looked up but didn't say a word. What was there to say?

"Bring her home for dinner tomorrow and get rid of this mess; it's destroying business," she said. She grabbed her bag and walked out.

George fell into his chair and rubbed his head.

"Sir, you have a meeting in 10 minutes," James, who stood outside the door, yelled.

"Delay it for an additional 20 minutes." James nodded and was about to leave when George called him back.

"President George?" he called, refusing to enter the office.

"If I were to call you again, the consequences won't be funny," George warned, with his head buried in his laptop.

James entered the office and arranged his tie before taking short strides to George.

"I want you to visit Miss Elorod and tell her that her attention is needed here."

"Boss, won't it be risky to bring her over here?" He pointed towards the floor.

George removed his eyes from the laptop and faced James, rubbing his chin. "I want her to suffer the same embarrassment I faced from Mother." His eyes were red as he spoke.

James swallowed a non-existing lump from his throat. "Okay, Sir," and walked out of the room.

George rested his back on his chair and rubbed his forehead while tapping his feet.

*Elorod Household*

**London's POV**

"What's the meaning of this? How could you be so cheap?" He raised his hand to hit Paris, but I got in between.

"See?...." he turned and faced his wife and glared at her. "--Can you believe this? Just because I'm busy providing for this family, you've forgotten your role as a woman and have made my children turn against me, huh?" He wanted to grab her when a little boy ran to him.

"Let mommy be." He pushed the man away, but his strength was no match for his father.

"Alfred!" Paris, who was weeping, stood up and rushed to the little boy who was crying on the floor.

"Paris? Why is Daddy hitting Mommy?"

Paris was about to open her mouth when Mr. Elorod spoke, "Your sister had decided to sell her body and shame the whole family, and your selfish mother has done nothing to stop it." The little boy was confused and cried louder.

I closed my ears as the noise grew louder. "Enough!" I wanted to speak but heard a knock on the door.

I strolled to the door and was surprised to see the man who showed me Mr. Katz.

"Who are you here for?" I rushed out and blocked the door, avoiding him entering the house.

"You?" James found my question silly.

"What about?" I looked sideways, with my hand firmly on the doorknob.

James felt something was off but he needed to take her to his boss.

"Mr. Katz demands your presence in the office," James announced, and I scanned the man who looked round with mockery in my eyes.

"Why the sudden change of heart?" I wanted to ask this but then I recalled that Paris would never ask such.

"What for? He already fired me." My soft voice made the man smile at me.

"Something interesting came up, and your attention is needed," James explained, holding his tab with one hand while pushing his glasses up with the other.

I scanned the man and shrugged; he looked genuine. "Okay, please give me some minutes to change. I'm sweaty." I didn't wait for a reply as I entered the house.

A few minutes later, the door opened. "Mr. James, let's go."
